The Caribbean Council in aid of Hands for Hunger – Together Transforming Food Hunger in the Bahamas

The Caribbean Council is pleased to support Hands for Hunger, our chosen charity for 2023-2024 with a charitable donation to aid in the fight against food hunger in the Bahamas.

The Caribbean Council is committed to integrating our ESG values throughout our work, memberships, and partners within the UK and across the Caribbean and Central America in which we operate. Together with our growing members, we proudly represent ethical and sustainable business practices with a strong emphasis on improving and championing public health and social initiatives in the Region, supporting local economic development, governance, skills improvements and advocating for environmental protection, biodiversity, and climate resilience.

Chris Bennett, Managing Director of The Caribbean Council said:

“We are delighted to support Hands for Hunger in the Bahamas as our charity partner for this financial year.   At a time of global high food and energy prices, pressure on family budgets has never been higher, and the work of Hands for Hunger is more vital than ever.”

Keisha Ellis, Executive Director at Hands for Hunger, commented;

“Hands for Hunger is sincerely thankful to The Caribbean Council for their generous donation, demonstrating once again their steadfast commitment to addressing food insecurity in the Bahamas. This contribution will impact the lives of those in need, allowing us to expand our reach and provide essential nourishment to individuals and families facing food insecurity. Our work is fuelled by the support of people and organizations in the local and global community who believe in our mission. Continuous support is instrumental in sustaining our important feeding programs, including the H4H Pantry, our School Pantries, Mobile Community Markets and more. Hands For Hunger looks forward to continuing our impactful work with The Caribbean Council and appreciates their dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of those we serve. Together, we can create a future where no one in the Bahamas goes hungry.”
