The Caribbean Council Annual Reception – 1 May 2024

We are delighted to invite you to The Caribbean Council’s Annual Reception which will be taking place on Wednesday 1st May 2024 from 18.30 – 20.30 at the House of Lords. In his capacity as President of The Caribbean Council, The Rt Hon the Lord Bruce of Bennachie is hosting the Reception.

This year, our event will be focusing on the beautiful island of Tobago, part of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. We are delighted to announce that our guest of honour,and keynote speaker this year will be the Chief Secretary of Tobago’s House of Assembly, Hon. Farley Augustine.  

We are also excited to announce that to talk about and celebrate the enduring ties between the Caribbean and the U.K., and in particular Trinidad and Tobago, we will be joined by Baroness Floella Benjamin. 

As in previous years, the Reception will be an opportunity for attendees to engage with MPs and Peers, the Caribbean and Central American Diplomatic Corps, senior members from the UK civil service and members of the Caribbean and Central America community in the UK, and of course business leaders invested in and working with the region. On top of hearing from our speakers, attendees will also enjoy a rum punch, a live steel band as well as have the opportunity to enter in the prize draw with a top prize of a holiday for two to Tobago!
