The Caribbean Council was pleased to host a roundtable with the Dwight Fitzgerald Bramble, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Diaspora Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Our members also welcomed honoured guests from the High Commission:
- His Excellency J. M. Brereton Horne, the newly appointed High Commissioner of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the UK
- Minister Counsellor Jinelle Adams
- Minister Counsellor Charmane Tappin John
The roundtable focussed on the country’s economic priorities under the new administration, and opportunities for foreign investment and partnership.
The discussion also addressed the wider economic landscape in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, including development challenges, infrastructure projects, and the role of diaspora engagement in supporting economic growth.
Beyond the main topic, the discussion touched on the economic situation in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. This included challenges to development, plans for infrastructure, and the potential role of diaspora engagement in supporting economic growth.
Minister Bramble highlighted the government’s ambition to strengthen the economy through four strategic pillars: agriculture, tourism, the blue economy (marine resources), and the orange economy (encompassing creative industries and digital innovation). The event highlighted the importance of modernising agriculture, developing value-added production, and reducing the country’s high food import bill.
The event concluded with a call to strengthen collaboration between the UK and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, including opportunities for investment, business partnerships, and diaspora engagement initiatives.
We would like to extend our appreciation to our guests – Minister Bramble, High Commissioner Horne, and all participants for their valuable contributions to the meeting.
