We are pleased to invite you to a members only round-table business meeting to discuss the current priorities for growth and opportunities for investment in Tobago.
Our guest will be Chris James, Senior Advisor to Chief Secretary Farley Augustine, at the Tobago House of Assembly. Chris leads the Foreign Direct Investment Department.
The event will take place from 3-5pm on the 3rd of November at the offices of Charles Russell Speechlys LLP. 5 Fleet Place, London EC4M 7RD.
Members will hear from Chris an update on the plans and developments in Tobago since our event with Tobago last Spring, including the completion of the new airport terminal at ANR Robinson International Airport – and the next steps planned to kick-start tourism growth.
These will include updates on areas including:
Tourism:
- Sustainable attractions (investors or companies which operate or provide services or equipment for ziplines, tree-house lodges, trails – use of the rainforest)
- Museums (partnerships with larger museums – or services to improve curation and presentation of artefacts and history/ content).
- Tourism investors –hotel developments (small boutique properties or potentially larger branded hotel)
- Tourism partners – Airlines, cruise sector
Agriculture:
- Support to improve agricultural efficiency
- Hi-tech agriculture – (eg vertical farming, shade houses etc)
- Suppliers/ investors / service providers
Infrastructure:
- Port development for cruise sector
- Marinas
Digitisation:
- Digitisation of public services (eg. land records/ medical records/ other licensing /payment and collection of tax etc)

As members will be aware, there were national elections in Trinidad and Tobago on 28th April. Tobago now has two deputies in the National Parliament from the TPP (Tobago People’s Party). The TPP already has a majority in the Tobago House of Assembly.
