The Panama canal presented financial results which included US$4.99bn in total revenue and a 5% decrease in operational costs. Net income increased by US$300mn compared to the previous fiscal year. The interoceanic route grew by 1% with an estimated increase of US$1.8bn over five years. A severe drought caused a slowdown on transits and there was a 21% reduction of deep-draft transits from 2023-2024. Projections for 2025 include 520 million tons of goods transported and operating revenue of US5.62bn.
