Recent Webinar with UKEF – Jesse McDougall

On Tuesday, 12th March, The Caribbean Council was pleased to host an informative webinar with Jesse McDougall – Head of Export Finance, UKEF for North America and the Caribbean.

This recent member event was themed around ‘Unlocking Opportunities: UKEF Export Solutions for Caribbean Markets. Jesse presented an overview of UKEF financing solutions and tools for UK exports to allow products and services to reach the market and become more competitive. 

Key highlights included: 
* UKEF provides government-backed finance and insurance to help you export. 
* Offering a wide range of products and services that can make the difference to UK exporters and their international buyers.
* UKEF offers working capital, export insurance, buyer finance solutions as well as bond support schemes and general export facilities. 
* Countries in the region with strong UKEF cover include Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana, Jamaica, The Bahamas, Barbados, and British Overseas Territories.

Discussions surrounded the increased appetite for business, investment opportunities and the UK supply chain to support the Caribbean. Sectors of increased opportunities involve areas such as renewable power projects, offshore wind, solar, desalination, decarbonisation and green projects, hydro, energy storage, infrastructure, airport upgrades, port improvements, construction and capital equipment requirements, engineering, architecture, project management, insurance, transport and general imports.
