The Caribbean Council is pleased to present our mission delegates.

Thank you to all our partners, country sponsors and our delegates for making this UK Business Mission to Jamaica and the Dominican Republic a huge success.

Delegates will have the opportunity to attend organised group meetings with key local players as well as incorporating briefing meetings presented by lead business representatives with in-market experience and attend a networking reception at the UK High Commissioner residence.
Jamaica, the largest English-speaking island in the Caribbean, offers a dynamic and welcoming environment for British exporters, combining strategic location, strong trade ties, and a pro-business climate. UK exports to Jamaica grew by 20% in 2024, and the IMF growth projection for the growth of the island’s economy in 2025 is a healthy 2.1%. Jamaica boasts modern infrastructure, a skilled workforce, and preferential access to key markets through trade agreements like the CARIFORUM-UK EPA. The government actively supports foreign investment with incentives in logistics, manufacturing, and renewable energy. Jamaica has a growing digital economy and offers strong prospects in sectors such as renewable energy, agritech and infrastructure. UKEF is also keen to grow its footprint in Jamaica and support UK businesses here.
H.E. Judith Slater, UK High Commissioner to Jamaica
The Dominican Republic is one of the fastest growing and most diversified economies in Latin America and the Caribbean, with GDP growth projected at 4% in 2025. Its economic performance is underpinned by strong fundamentals, including macroeconomic and political stability, a strategic geographic location, and a broad-based economy spanning manufacturing, mining, infrastructure, and a globally competitive tourism sector. With a growing middle class and rising demand for high-quality international goods and services, the Dominican Republic presents a compelling proposition for UK exporters and investors. Priority sectors include renewable energy, infrastructure, life sciences, food and drink, creative industries, and digital transformation. The 2023 Memorandum of Understanding between UK Export Finance and the Dominican Republic—providing up to $4.8 billion in export finance support—demonstrates the scale of opportunity. This trade mission offers a timely and strategic platform for UK companies to engage with key stakeholders, explore commercial partnerships, and contribute to the country’s continued economic development.
