Investment Seminar Highlights Jamaica as a ‘Great Place to Do Business’

The Caribbean Council in partnership with JAMPRO were pleased to welcome members to yesterday’s ‘Jamaica Investment Seminar’. With business confidence in Jamaica at a record high, the event emphasised investment opportunities and growing demand for quality goods and services.  There are large-scale opportunities in industries such as renewable energy, agriculture, logistics, manufacturing, BPO, infrastructure, hotel development, affordable housing, and construction more widely.

Managing Director of the Caribbean Council, Chris Bennett chaired the event opening conversations around Jamaica’s hard won economic stability, the current drivers of economic growth, and the sectors attracting fast increasing levels of direct foreign investment.

Our high level panel of excellent speakers included:

Jamaica High Commissioner – HE Alexander Williams

JAMPRO Regional Manager – Laurence Jones

Managing Director of JP Logistics Solutions – Gary Phillips

CEO of Soleco Energy – Angella Rainford

Alan Buckland – Pan Jamaica Group

The discussion panel focussed on themes surrounding Jamaica’s economic stability, drivers of growth and public investment.

Our speakers touched on the numerous advantages now embedded in the business environment in Jamaica including stable monetary and fiscal policies, currency stability, legal stability, simplified and fair tax regulations and the Jamaican Government’s suite of incentives to encourage inward investment.

We would like to extend our thanks to our event hosts Signature Litigation for their hospitality and support.
