Eco (Atlantic) Oil & Gas is an oil and gas exploration company with licences offshore Guyana and Namibia, highly prospective exploration regions. Guyana in particular is one of the hottest exploration areas in the world today. Eco partners with Total and Tullow Oil on its Orinduik Block. The Partners plan to drill two potentially transformational wells on the Orinduik Block in 2019, with the first scheduled for early June.
This Block is adjacent to ExxonMobil’s Stabroek Block where over 5 billion barrels oil equivalent of recoverable resource have been identified. The Liza Field, one of a handful of billion-barrel discoveries in the past decade alone, is expected to start producing oil in 2020, contributing to a projected growth in Guyana’s GDP of 30% next year according to the World Bank. Exxon’s tenth discovery on its Stabroek Block, Hammerhead is just a few kilometres from Eco’s and appears to extend onto Eco’s Orinduik Block.
