Trade and investment mission to Guatemala and Nicaragua, March 2013

In partnership with the Embassies of Guatemala and Nicaragua in London and British Embassies in the region, the Central American Business Council organised an investment and trade mission to Guatemala and Nicaragua in March 2013 for senior representatives of UK companies that wanted to explore opportunities in the following sectors:

Energy: electricity generation and distribution; oil and gas exploration and production; renewable energy projects.

Infrastructure: new and expanded ports/ airports; new road and rail projects; upgraded telecommunications; new prisons.

Mining: Projects with proven reserves of precious metals and minerals in Guatemala and Nicaragua open to foreign participation.

Each member of the delegation had a bespoke programme of meetings designed to meet their company’s needs which included meetings with relevant officials in different ministries, regulatory agencies, significant regional private sector partners, and local financial institutions; briefings with the British Ambassador in each country; networking events; and site visits.
