Chris took on the leadership of the Caribbean Council in 2015 after working for many years for the organisation as its Trade Policy Director. Chris has worked with international investors and business advising them on the Caribbean region for over a decade, as well as supporting Caribbean Governments and the private sector on trade policy issues in London, Brussels and Geneva.
He has provided Europe-wide public affairs and trade policy advice to some of the largest corporations and business groups in the Caribbean and Central America, primarily on trade and regulatory issues affecting the spirits, tourism and financial services industries. Chris was responsible for expanding the Council’s remit into Central America for the first time and for delivering the major part of the Council’s Cuba and Dominican Republic active trade programme over the past 12 years.
Chris is an Advisory Trustee of the Caribbean Central American Action in Washington DC and a Member of the Advisory Board of Directors, Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association. Before working at the Caribbean Council, Chris worked at the European Commission in Brussels and worked for five years on UK and European policy issues for a major manufacturing industry trade body based in London. He also worked in Parliament as a researcher for Rt Hon Hilary Benn MP. A fluent Spanish, Italian and French speaker, Chris is a graduate of the London School of Economics and University College London.
