Catherine Hickey is responsible for undertaking practical research on political, economic and commercial developments for clients and for identifying opportunities for investment in the Caribbean, Cuba and Central American regions. She is closely involved in the editing of all the publications and reports that the Caribbean Council produces.
With experience working for corporate clients, governments, trade associations and NGOs, in the UK, Europe and the Caribbean and Central America, areas of particular focus during her time at the Caribbean Council have included: Cuba and organising the largest British commercial mission to Havana in April 2015; the Central American Business Council, the Caribbean rum industry, the UK-Caribbean political relationship including air passenger duty, the Caribbean Diaspora in the UK, Chinese involvement in the Caribbean, citizenship by investment programmes, and the three Guianas.
Prior to joining the Caribbean Council, she worked for CSR consultancies and at Lloyds Bank. She is a fluent Spanish speaker, having spent significant periods of time in Latin America. Catherine graduated with a degree in French and Spanish from Trinity College, Cambridge.
