The Caribbean Council’s Annual Reception 2018

Each year, The Caribbean Council hosts an Annual Reception at the House of Lords which provides a unique opportunity for UK, Caribbean and Central American companies to network with others from the UK and the region who are involved in supporting the region’s economic development and bilateral investment.

This year marked The Caribbean Council’s 14th Annual Reception at the House of Lords which took place on evening of 24th April 2018. We were delighted to welcome as our 2018 guest of honour and keynote speaker, Hon Allen Chastanet, Prime Minister of St Lucia, who spoke talk about his vision for the future of St Lucia and opportunities available to UK and international investors in various sectors there. We were also delighted to welcome, The Baroness Fairhead, Minister of State at Department of International Trade, who also spoke on investment in St Lucia and the wider Caribbean as well as the importance of continuing to strengthen ties between UK and Caribbean.

In his capacity as President of the Caribbean Council, The Rt Hon the Lord Bruce of Bennachie hosted the Reception. The Reception offered an excellent opportunity for attendees to engage with MPs and Peers, the Caribbean and Central American Diplomatic Corps, senior members from the UK civil service and business leaders invested in and working with the region.

During the evening, our guests had the opportunity to enjoy a rum punch on the terrace with views over the Thames whilst networking and listening to Caribbean steel pan music. Following the key note speeches, our unique Reception ended with a raffle where guests had the chance of winning a range of fantastic prizes.

We are extremely grateful to our sponsors:

Without them, the event would not be possible.
