The Caribbean Council held a meeting with the Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr Hon. Ralph Gonsalves who was re-elected in December 2015 for his fourth consecutive term in office.
This event organised by the Caribbean Council gave businesses and investors the opportunity to hear about the Prime Minister’s approach to building St Vincent and the Grenadine’s economic future; current investments underway in critical transport infrastructure; business opportunities in St Vincent and the Grenadines in a number of sectors such as tourism, energy and industry; and the Government’s policies aimed at attracting foreign investors.
We were also pleased to welcome as a speaker on the panel, a major international investor in St Vincent and the Grenadines, Mr Kelly Glass, the CEO of K-Group, a development and facilitation group which have built airports extensions, roads, bridges, marinas, boatyards, and telecoms infrastructure on land, including fibre optics and cellular, sub-sea fibre and copper. As operators, K-Group operate three hotels, two marinas and a boatyard in the region. Mr Glass discussed the practical issues of doing business on the island, and talked about the challenges and opportunities his firm has experienced as an investor in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
The meeting was chaired by the new President of The Caribbean Council, Lord Bruce of Bennachie, who recently took over Lord Foulkes.
