Advisory Committee meeting, November 2013

The Advisory Committee meeting which took place on 25 November 2013 had as its main theme Cuba: change and economic opportunity.

With the help of Dr Emily Morris as our guest speaker, The Caribbean Council explored members’ views of the economic reforms taking place in Cuba; the economic opportunities and challenges this offers to companies, countries and businesses in Europe and in the region; the likelihood of increased US involvement in Cuba’s economic development; and the how the Caribbean Council and the Cuba Initiative should best position itself to support members.

The meeting was chaired by our President, Lord Foulkes and included over twenty participants from business, government and academia from both the UK and the region. The meeting took place as usual under Chatham House rules.
